In my struggle to know myself  ~ each artwork serves as a medium to harmonize my physical and spiritual selves. Releasing vibrant emotional colors, wavelengths of light flow though my heart in a precious moment of healing.  Wading through pools of reflected light, the urge to ground this extraordinary energy is satisfied as I draw twigs of charred willow through pigments, manifesting my vision.  Overlooking fifty years of painting, three collections emerge. Each focuses on essential ways we interact with earth's garden and divine spirit in flourishing a joyful life.

Planting my feet in the sand, my heart soars to the heavens. I first became aware of myself as a conduit connecting earth and spirit while mixing colors en plein air on the beach near my home. Ethereal light felt illusive, until I learned to harmonize the spiritual light with earth pigments. 

In my paintings, you will feel the earth colors firmly grounding you in the lower portion of your body. While ethereal blues and violets uplift your heart, earth and heavenly colors mix in your heart, broadening the range of green wavelengths. Like walking in a field of grass, the healing process of nature moves within us.

Embodying Earth Sky Water to Move into the Meadow

Land of Plenty Collection

When I first began painting the Land of Plenty series, the meadow appeared far off in the distance. Now four decades later, the fertile meadow, fields, cottages, and flora flourish front and center. At the outset, I thought I painted the landscape 'out there,' only to realize that the 'landscape within' attracted me to paint my own self portrait.

From someone who saw the world as 'never enough,' painting the Land of Plenty transforms everything about life and love ~ from a 'misty wistful wish' to the radiant meadow of life.'

efflorescence  Collection

A day, an hour, or even a few moments in the garden transforms my world. My soul remembers that I am still here in this body blooming on earth. 

I can taste the colors! That mouth-watering urge to stir and sniff is irresistable. The essence of flowers, orchids, tulips, anemone, hyacinths, roses, lilies, oh I could go on and on. Blooming is the purpose to all of it! I am obsessed and hope my art will entice you to cut loose and flourish.
