Sanctuary Oil Paintings

In every painting I dissolve my 'self' ~ allowing spirit to hold my hand and create me newly.  In every work, heart feels reborn.  

Painting the thin space -- between heaven and earth   ~ is something I've done for over forty years.  The question I am asked most often -- 'is this a particular place you are painting?' My answer is yes, though not exactly what I imagine you are expecting.

While I began painting with my bare feet planted firmly in the sand beside my easel in the marsh near my Virginia home ~ mixing colors to match earth sky and water ~ transformed the place I paint from.

As I dissolved myself into the colors of the landscape, year after year, I find myself amidst a sanctuary divine. This is the place I paint now ~ a very special place of solace in the heart ~ which you can feel in your own heart.
